Documentation Update

Product: REL Directory

Version: 03.08

Date: November 10, 2003

The following changes have been made in this release:

1.	CAUPDATE

Coordinated the update of Comet Anywhere with host sites running Comet.exe.
Previously this only worked for nodes starting Cosw.exe.
It is no longer necessary to enter the desired version number. Update to
the proper version is automatic once user opts to do it.

Changes in previous releases: Version 03.07 1. MTB50 New mnemonics: (AutoCROn) and (AutoCrOff) can be used to turn ON or OFF the extra CR/LF added by CosP to the end of each line not followed with a (TR). The mnemonic is in effect until either the printer is closed or the opposite mnemonic is sent. The effect will persist over an EXIT, so a subprogram may issue the mnemonic for a printer opened by the parent program. 2. New alternative DES programs for HTML and TXT printers called HTMLNOL and EXTNOL, respectively. They operate exactly like HTMLPTR and EXTPTR except that they do not do the actual launch of the resulting document. When used with Comet .328 or higher, you can print to the printer and retrieve the name file that would have been launched from the # buffer immediately after the CLOSE. Then do what you like with it and not have the user actually see the doc in either the browser or the text editor.
Version 03.06 1. QERCOMET Added a new error E9B: Server Transport Error 2. QMONITOR Made changes required to identify CFAM type directories. Changed the wording of the error message delivered when a password is invalid so as not to confuse it with Security Server error messages. The new wording is: 'Invalid Blind Password Security System. Press TAB:' 3. CMONITOR Now detects whether it is connecting a CometAnywhere session. If so, it checks the version of Cosw against the version of Comet on the host. If they are not the same, it enters the CAUPDATE utility. 4. CAUPDATE The CAUPDATE utility knows it has been entered, and if so, it checks whether the CometAnywhere update exe is available in the $(UPDATES) directory. If so, it asks the user whether he/she would like to update their software. 5. SYSGEN Made changes to allow for new type "C" directories.
