Version: 05.07

Date: November 15, 2005

1.	QMONITOR / CMONITOR

Moved the clearing of the Comet window caption from QMONITOR to CMONITOR.

CMONITOR now resets TERM$ to ITERM$ at startup.

2.	EmailPtr

New (EmailDocument=) mnemonic may be used to specify the name that will be
associated with the attachment file. This requires Comet version .363 or higher.

Added feature to automatically prompt for missing From, To, or Subject parameters,
which are required for email to be sent successfuly.

Changes in previous releases: 05.06 1. QMONITOR Changes to recognize Comet 2006 version number. 2. EmailPtr Added pdf filename to log file. 05.05 1. SYSGEN Gateway configuration has been changed to work as originally documented. Gateways configured in the global section of an INI file apply to all nodes. However, a gateway configured in the local section (i.e., within a [NODE] group) will override all of the global gateway definitions. 2. EmailPtr An empty document file will now be recognized and an appropriate error message will be added to the log file. 05.04 1. DocMgr You may now write a program called DMExit which will be run by DocMgr at exit time to direct it to the program of your choice. If DMExit is not found, DocMgr will take the default exit back to the monitor program. 2. SYSGEN Now launches its documentation from the Signature web site. 3. QMONITOR A change has been made to the value stored for the user's name as reported by PSTAT. If IDFILE is not being used, 16 blanks will be stored ahead of the user name from the password file. These 16 spaces normally contain the user name from IDFILE. Therefore, since PSTAT reports the first 16 bytes of the user information, if you're not using IDFILE you will only see blanks in the user name field reported by PSTAT. 05.03 1. EmailPtr This is a new DES program for implementation of the Comet 2005 Email Printer. 05.02 1. CometEx This is a new program which may either be RUN or ENTERED. It will verify that the user's configuration is allowed to run Comet Explorer or not. If so, it will launch it. If any errors are encountered in the process, messages will be logged to the Startup Details file. This is the program which is ENTERED when you click on "Comet Explorer" in QMONITOR. Feel free to add similar code to your menus if you wish. Note: REL and COS must be configured as CFAM directories and the user must have access to them. Systems using a security QMONITOR must have the password file directory configured as a CFAM directory. Before launching Comet Explorer for a Comet Anywhere client, this program will copy any of the Comet Explorer executables from the host which are newer than versions currently available on the client. 2. CAUPD This is a new program for Comet Anywhere installations. It provides a method for systems using a security QMONITOR to either enable or disable the automatic client updates. If automatic updates are disabled, it also allows a client to perform a manual update of the Comet Executables. The new automatic update process no longer requires user intervention so it may be performed from an automated Comet session. 3. The DES programs for HTML, TEXT, and PDF printers have been changed so that the document will now launch on a Comet Anywhere 2005 client system. 4. QMONITOR A couple of problems preventing Comet Explorer from launching have been corrected. 5. IBHelp.chm is now included with the REL release for your convenience. Set up a shortcut to it for instant access to the IB help files. 6. PRTSCRN has been removed from the release.
05.01 1. DocMgr A new program for organizing and launching documents printed to an Archive. Archives are available for pdf, htm, and txt printers. They are designed to replace the legacy spool device. 2. ViewDoc A new DES program is now available for PDF printers. It simply will cause the new document to be launched when the printer is closed. This may be handy for users of pdfFactory who otherwise would have to launch the document manually. 3. CMONITOR and CAUPDATE Improved method for determining if Comet Anywhere remotes need to be updated. When the host first starts up, a text file called caupdvsn.txt is created in $(CATEMP) to record the host's CosW version. When a remote connects, its CosW version is compared to that. If an update needs to be done CAUPDATE will be called. Previously the version of CosH was used for comparision. Since this tends to change more frequently than CosW, updates were being done when not necessary. NOTE: Configuration must have TMP dir set to $(CATEMP) for this to work properly. 4. QMONITOR New hyperlink for running DocMgr. Changes required to recognize DocMgr Archive Printer in status display. 5. QSPOOL Browser view now ignores any special mnemonics in the document.
