Introduction Sending and Receiving Messages Reference

The CEMAIL program is used to send, read, and print messages. When the CEMAIL program is run, a message summary screen is displayed. If you have new messages, they will appear in reverse chronological order (i.e., newest messages first, oldest messages last).

The summary screen displays new messages for the mailbox associated with the terminal being used (i.e., the "default terminal" as defined in the CEMM program). If there is no mailbox associated with the terminal being used, you will be prompted to enter a user name; the CEMAIL program will then display the message summary for that user.

The summary screen includes the user's name (i.e., the "open" mailbox) and the category of messages being displayed (new, archived, or trashed). Each message is numbered and includes the pertinent information about the message. A list of options is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

The options displayed at the bottom of the summary screen lead to further options and actions in the program. The following chart describes each option.
