Comet32 Strings
The Comet32 Compiler and runtime support much
longer strings than Comet16.
- You may declare a
string of up to 64k Characters (65,535).
- All string functions
which were available in Comet16 are supported in Comet32.
- You may also declare
a string as “DYNAMIC”. This will allow the memory
allocated for the string to be adapted to the actual string
length.
-
- Dynamic strings may
be much longer than regularly declared strings. They may grow to
over 4 GB.
- Actual allocations
grow and shrink in 64k increments for performance.
- The String
Accumulator is Dynamic.
- String Arrays MAY NOT
be dynamic.
