You may notice this version of the Comet release is lighter than previous versions. The good
news is we have eliminated all files used solely by Comet16. There is no bad news. This version
can work just fine for you whether you run only Comet32, only Comet16, or you switch between the
two:
If you only run Comet32 just install this release as normal. If you really want to clean up
your Comet folder you can delete all the Comet files before installing this release to get rid
of the unused Comet16 files (be sure to keep the .cfg files). When you install the new release you'll
only get those files required to run Comet32.
If you need the ability to run Comet16 and a version of Comet is already installed just
install this release as normal. Comet.exe will continue to copy the Comet16 files to your
%temp% folder for execution. You should continue to do Comet upgrades so you get the benefit
of changes made to the parts of Comet used by both Comet16 and Comet32, such as CosW, CosC,
CosP, etc.
If you need to set up a new Comet system and it needs to run Comet16, install the last
version of Comet 2017, then install the current version on top of it. Again, you should continue
to do Comet upgrades so you get the benefit of changes made to the parts of Comet used by both
Comet16 and Comet32.
